Greek Yogurt Is Different
Greek yogurt is a staple in our kitchen. No other yogurt will do. It is nutrient-dense, with lower carbs, less sugar, and nearly double the protein of regular yogurt. We find it is thicker, creamier, and tastes richer and more satisfying.
Greek Yogurt vs Regular Yogurt
Greek and regular yogurt are made with the exact same ingredients, but Greek yogurt is strained to remove much of the whey. This reduced lactose content makes Greek yogurt easier to digest for many people. If lactose is not an issue for you and probiotics are your priority, regular yogurt may suit you just fine. If you are looking for an easy tzatziki recipe, Greek yogurt is your starting point.
How We Use Greek Yogurt in Our Kitchen
We often serve Greek yogurt for breakfast with fruit and granola. Greg will sometimes add one of the Peppermaster Elixir products, or drizzle it with Canada’s best cherry syrup from Unifruits.

Cooking With Greek Yogurt
Do you use yogurt in your kitchen? You should. Greek yogurt is incredibly good for you and far more versatile than most people realize. Beyond breakfast, it is the base for countless Mediterranean sauces, marinades, and dips.
Greek yogurt is often referred to as gyro sauce, Greek yogurt sauce, or Greek yogurt dip. It appears as a primary ingredient in tzatziki, Greek chicken marinades, and traditional gyro recipes.

Authentic Tzatziki Recipes
Authentic Tzatziki Sauce
Grate cucumber and squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Add the cucumber to Greek yogurt along with garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt. This creates an authentic tzatziki perfect for lamb, falafel, or grilled vegetables.
Mint & Lemon Tzatziki
Add finely chopped fresh mint, a splash of Bushman Jungle Juice, and olive oil.
If you enjoy a little heat in your sauce, especially with fish, this is where you can experiment with different Peppermaster products.

Peppermaster Spicy Tzatziki
Add a spoonful of your favourite elixir for a touch of sweetness and fresh pepper flavour. For a bolder result, stir in one or two spoonfuls from the Peppermaster Infusions line. The dry spices bloom as they marinate in the yogurt, creating a deeply flavoured sauce.
Experiment with different Peppermaster flavours. Many can be transformed into something far from a traditional Greek garlic sauce. If you are hosting a party, this makes an excellent Greek yogurt cucumber dip with chips or vegetables.
