Cream of Anything Casserole
This recipe came as a result of a conversation about casseroles. We discuss the oddest things on Twitter. No, neither @Peppermaster nor @Pepperfire were in on the conversation but suffice to say that the recipe was the result of Lauren Ackerman, who tweets as @Verbing Nouns accepting the very generous offer of James to share some casserole recipes from some of the cookbooks that he owns. If you’d like to read the exchange, it began with this tweet:
I did not grow up with green bean casserole (or really any type of casserole) so they are SUCH A TREAT. I WANT GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE NOW.
— Lauren Ackerman (@VerbingNouns) April 26, 2015
Essentially it’s a Twitter thread that is everything casserole. If you’re a foodie, have a read through.
Here then is the casserole recipe that one will find on page 13 of James Harbeck’s Asshole’s Guide to Cooking, Volume 1.
. @VerbingNouns Quick and easy Anything Casserole:
1. Quickly cook up some meat, vegetable, or both.— James Harbeck (@sesquiotic) April 26, 2015
@VerbingNouns 2. Boil up some noodles, maybe, not too soft. Or don't if you don't want, but there'll be less casserole. Oh, you can use rice

@VerbingNouns 3. Open a can or two of cream of anything soup. Mix it with that stuff you just cooked. Dump it in a casserole.
— James Harbeck (@sesquiotic) April 26, 2015
@VerbingNouns 4. If you really want to blow people away, pour some dried onion soup mix over the top of it.
— James Harbeck (@sesquiotic) April 26, 2015
@VerbingNouns 5. But you should anyway put buttered bread crumbs or buttered noodles all over the top.
— James Harbeck (@sesquiotic) April 26, 2015
@VerbingNouns 6. Cook it uncovered in a 350˚F oven for, um, I can't remember how long. Not all that. Enough to heat it, cook the rice.

@VerbingNouns Serve with chardonnay or chablis, or beer, or water. Or Hawaiian Punch, I guess.
— James Harbeck (@sesquiotic) April 26, 2015
@VerbingNouns Oh, I almost forgot: the crumbs or noodles on top have to be golden and yummy.

@sesquiotic @VerbingNouns Tuna noodle casserole should be topped with crushed potato chips for that authentic late 70's vibe,

@msmyers17 @VerbingNouns Oh yeah! Totally forgot about that. My mom always did the buttered bread cubes thing.

Bon appetit!
